Re: recommend me a reverb pedal!
I'm gonna buy the Boss FRV-1 as soon as it hits the shop.
Found the video's pretty convincing. And since it will come last in my signal chain, the buffer might come in handy...
I'll tell more about it when it gets here....
Grtz, Bert.

Im afraid that a reverb on the front end will muddy up my input on an ad30, any thoughts on that? I've only ever used reverb built in, or in the loop. I was thinking of modding an fx loop almost exclusively for the purpose of reverb.

Re: recommend me a reverb pedal!
I use the Mr Springgy into the front end of my AD30 and it's fine. Of course it's never going to be as pristine as a built-in spring reverb in a Fender or something, but that's not what an AD30 is for anyway! Set fairly low, the Mr Springgy softens the amp's natural dryness without getting muddy.TheYanChamp wrote:Im afraid that a reverb on the front end will muddy up my input on an ad30, any thoughts on that? If you crank it to 'surf guitar' levels it turns to mud, but then if you're really into wet reverb you'd probably choose a different amp to begin with!
Personally I'd say if it's that important to you that you're thinking of adding an FX loop, perhaps you should consider a different amp...

Re: recommend me a reverb pedal!
Malekko Spring Chicken.
Have had the Holy Grail and it was a noisy beast. Had the Sole-mate and it did sound great but it was bulky and delicate. The Makekko and Mr. Springgy share the same chip (as I understand), but the Spring Chicken is cheaper and looks about fifty-million times cooler. I agree w/ what LCN says about low settings being good and functional and highe settings turning to mud. I'm afraid theat My Morning Jacket-type reverb levels aren't in the cards for these little one-knobber, belden-chip numbers.

Re: recommend me a reverb pedal!
I find the HG Plus works really well with my R.30. (The 'Plus' version gives better control than the standard HG.)Though you do hear about it I haven't had any noise issues with it on any of my amps.Deacon Blues wrote: ...people like their electro harmonix holy grails too
It actually brightens up the Natural channel nicely giving it a more open feel even on minimal reverb settings. Definitely suggest you try it out with the R.30.

Re: recommend me a reverb pedal!
I second the Malekko Spring Chicken. My reverb pedal search is over. Have used the EHX Holy Grail, Holy Grail +, and Nano Holy Grail, the Mr. Springgy, Dr. Scientist RRR, and the Boss RV-5. The Malekko is my favorite for light reverb settings especially, and I think it sounds good for heavier reverb too (at least through a Fender or a Vox, less so on my Rocker 30 but still alright).

Check it:

I'd actually really like to get one of these things. The sound clips sound nice, and instead of it being simply a digital delay just tuned low for reverb, it's an actual digital reverb circuit. Not much of a different in the end perhaps in circuitry, but I really dig the low price, the simplistic design, and I like to build it myself!

Try the Digitech Hardwire...
I had to grab one in a pinch because my Holy Grail at the time was making some terrible hum when mounted in my old rack.
I was pleasantly suprised.
