Can anyone explain what the two different guitar ins on the AD30R are designed to do? One is high, one is low. I'm sure this is an absurdly basic question. Are you supposed to plug single coils into low and humbuckers into high? Or vice versa? I just do whatever sounds better to my ears that day. But maybe someone can explain how the circuit is working, or at least what the intention is with the inputs.

Thanks

One is usually a passive input the other active.

I've been told that Ideally, the Low is for Single coils and the Hi are for Humbuckers. I'm not sure why that's still done today, most guys plug single coils in the Hi anyway. We all like to get OD and Grit at low volumes with great tone so it makes sense to go Hi.

The high input generally has more sensibility, so it's easier to saturate it = louder and dirtier.

The low input is... well... lower and cleaner.

Just try them and hear the difference.

All amps I've seen (With 2 inputs) work the same EXCEPTING a friend's LAB SERIES (Don't know about others), that was the opposite.

I think that, with a passive guitar, you just use the input you like the more.

When I connect my jmp1, i use the low input, so i don't overcharge it, and it sounds really nice.
