Well my Clyde McCoy arrived today, a bit of a risk as I had not played one before but liked the 847 but wanted DC and true bypass.

Anyway, played it...

And its fantastic! I know some dont like it but to be honest I cant see why. SOOOOOOO much better than the crybaby. and DC and TB!

I guess its all subjective.

I own one aswell, got it in a sale after Christmas and really like it. I don't use it much though, but with distortion its the finest wah I've used.

The only problem I find is the pedal feels a bit loose, especially after using a whammy, I wish it was stiffer.

Its the about the 4th vox wah Ive played and they were all of different stiffness.

I reckon it would be relativly simple to tighten.

I dont mind a bit of loosness as it then requires more subtly to control.

Yes Joe that is Jeremy talking about being subtle with a wah!

Well its just weird after using a Whammy, that's all.

But its only a minor thing, it won't kill me and doesn't affect the sound at all. I just need to find more uses for it

A buddy of mine loves the sound of the Vox McCoy but after having the sixth wah brake down on him he bought the Budda which is still working today.
My point is that the Vox wahs aren't really the best quality. :?

I have a standard Vox wah, and a Fulltone Clyde. Although these worked really well on my Fender, they sound crap on my Rockerverb. Anyone else get that horrible 'quack' (not a musical 'quack', on overloading, loud low-mid hump) with thier wahs? Does the McCoy do this?

I went on a hunt a few years ago, tired of my nasally, short-ranged cry baby and I fell in love with the Vox Clyde McCoy. I play it through an AD15 and a Fender Vibrolux and it's nice and full, never too harsh, no dead spots, and I've dragged it around to gigs for the last couple of years and it has held up fine. Good luck.
