Fender Highway 1 Tele or G&L ASAT Tribute Tele

Hello Everyone,

I started a thread a while back about Highway 1 Tele vs Standard Tele. I decided on the highway 1 tele. However, I have recently done some more research on G&L and they seem pretty solid. I have heard great things about the G&L quality control compared to fender, and I think that all of the G&L Tribute electronics are made in USA, and the rest is made in Indonesia (I think?). Anyway, Now I am stuck between a Wine Red Highway 1 Tele, or a Walnut G&L Tribute ASAT Tele.

I am leaning towards the G&L, because they seem to be a better quality instrument (please do correct me if i'm wrong).

I have played both guitars, and they seem pretty close. I am just worried about Fenders new super thin finish...

Any help?
