ROCKERVERB with attenuator ?

Post by guitarrero » Mon Jul 27, 2009 8:58 am

Hi , everybody
I was thinking to myself it could be a very good idea to fit an attenuator inside the ROCKERVERB as well as it is in the THUNDERVERB ...
When I bought my THUNDERVERB head ,1 year ago , I was looking at RCKVB head as well as at THDVB head and the attenuator fitting made me choose the THUNDERVERB
Can't ORANGE ingeneers think of it ?
If THUNDERVERB owners appreciate it, why ROCKERVERB ' couldn't ?
What do you think
not running if you don't know where you're going....

I know I would definitely enjoy an attenuator on my RV50

Well, you can always go aftermarket and get a THD Hotplate or similiar attenuator. They work well as well.

First...the Rockerverb came first...so the thought of the attenuator came after that amps design.

Second....just use a Thunderverb.

Third - the RVs have the best MVs on the planet - what on earth would you want an attenuator on one for?!?!?!?!!! Makes no sense to me at all.

I'm just keeping my fingers crossed for a 3 channel RV. I'd buy one.

I agree with you and I should like this attenuator fitted on RVB because I do appreciate it on my THUNDERVERB head
Nevertheless, I can't find with my head all the clear sound I should like to hear maybe because I'm only playing with humbuckers and the THVB both channels become crunchy as fast as you turn the gain knob
My wish is to analyse differences between RCKVB and THVB , specially in the clean tunings....I guess dirty channels are not so different
Thank you for your comments helping me to improve my knowledge

I don't really see the need for an attenuator on the Rockerverb. To me it sounds good at any volume not just cranked.

I would sell a kidney for a 3 channel Rockerverb. If there was like a crunchy channel added to what it already has (like the Rocker 30's circuitry). Oh man, if you could select two different types of tubes for each channel (like 6v6 or EL34 for different channels) I would probably have a heart attack.
