Hi folks !
The last months I rarely played my strat and I always had in mind to trade her for a Les Paul.
It is a hate-love between me and my strat but I honestly hate her more than I love her...
Now, a guy from a german music-forum made an offer he wants to trade his Epiphione Elitist Les Paul.
I mailed him if he is interessted in trading his Elitist Paula for my strat.
He is interessted and maybe he wants to trade 1:1 so I dont have to pay a little money together with my strat.
My Strat is a 40th Anniversary Standard Strat (not the limited Custom Shop Model ! ), Maple Neck, Torino Red, all original, real player, seen many clubs, no velvet-gloves-showcase-model... Used for what its made for: to be played !
Should I go for it ? He's send me some pictures and the Elitist Paula looks great (I cant upload the pics at the moment).
Anyone got some experience with Elitist Les Pauls ???
Or should I sent my Strat to Ebay and use the money for this:
2005 Gibson Les Paul Special cherry with...
Aluminium Tailpiece,
280pf capacitors to avoid loosing trebles when lowering the volume
Metal pointer
Reflector knobs or 57 vintage style knobs
Historic Toggle switch
gigbag
I play mostly Blues and a bit hard rock...
What would you choose ?
Trading a 40th Anniv. Strat for a Elitist Les Paul ??

Sounds fine for my taste.
Its really an inner conflict...The LP Special with a fine sound, pimped with some reasonable features and, as Brian already said, who keeps its value better or a "real" Les Paul with fullsize Humbuckers and fat sound, maple top and all bells and whistles a Les Paul has.
