best telecaster for under $1000
Im really in the market for a fender telecaster right now and I dont really want to spend over $1000 for one seeing as I have a few other things I would like to buy and just don't have the money. I was just wondering some opinions on what you all think the best teles are out there for under $1000. Thanks.

If you're looking for new id say look into some of the CIJ telecasters.
If you're lucky you might be able to find a secondhand 52 reissue that falls into your budget. That would probably be my choice if i was looking for a tele.

I like these 2... Sorry the 1st one is a little over, but you could get one on the bay for less..Believe it or no the classic vibe tele is that good... Good Luck..

If you can get a used 52 for that that would be kick butt!Bandeapart wrote:Agreed with second hand 52 RI. Highway one is pretty cool, I almost bought one.

I have to say, the Fender Joe Strummer tribute Tele is the best Tele I've ever played. Bar none. And if you've ever seen how many Teles and Esquires I own... and have owned... that's high praise.
The necks on these guitars are a dead-on match for a 1866 profile Tele neck which is a terrific profile. Plus regardless of whether you like the finish at all, you can always sand it down and refinish it or something...

I bought a MIM Fender Classic Series '69 Telecaster Thinline last year and I couldn't be happier with it. Amazing tone, great sustain. Plus it looks incredibly classy. Now, I bought mine when they were still $700. Now they're going to run you $899, but supposedly Fender upgraded some of the parts on their guitars, but I find $200 in hardware upgrades a little hard to believe.
