OT:Basketball cards

I have a small collection of basketball cards that I was given, and want to sell them on. How can I go about finding a value for them and therefore get a fair price.

There's about 20 Michael Jordan cards and then some other people.....

Please remember I live in the UK so there aren't many dealers!

Also I have tried looking on the internet, but it's all very confusing!

When I was a kid I was really into baseball and hockey trading cards... a lot has changed since then.

Unless you have a card that is clearly incredibly rare, you won't get much for any cards anymore without having the cards graded/certified. As far as I know, the main companies that do this are in the U.S. So you'd have to pay to ship all those cards to the grading/certification company, which would cost a lot even though it's low weight, because you need to be sure they are not damaged in transit.

Basically, it depends on how much work you are willing to do.

My recommendation would be to order a copy of the latest Beckett Basketball card pricing guide (should only be a few USD). Look up the rough values of all the cards you have. If there are any that appear to be generally worth a significant amount of money, then it's probably worth your while to locate a grading company, send the cards that are worth more to that company, and get the appropriate docs certifying their condition and value.
