I think the new LP's are supposed to be Plek'ed.

Plek can be good or bad. It really depends on how the guitar was going into the plek job and also how good the tech was who did the plek set up.
The Plek machine scans the guitar and does what it can to give you a perfectly level fret board. But if there are dips or twists in the neck, its still going to level it and the machine can't make " decisions" on the best way to approach this specific neck to get it to play the best it can. That's where the machine operator comes into play. A great technician can use a plek to make an outstanding set up but its only as good as the person running it.

Yep....
at the shop if it reads the neck is bad or the frets need replaceing...we stop..
some newer guitars from Asia need to be Plek'ed twice...we have seen a few like this...
out of all the guitars I have played before & after including two of mine..the Plek is a god send...

+1. Both of my Gibsons were Plek'ed, and they just so happen to be the two best playing guitars I've ever laid hands on.

The "dark circuit" mod is probably the same thing as a "treble bleed" mod.

This is done with a 3-5 cent capacitor, I believe.
