I unfortunatley didn't have it for very long. I regret getting rid of her, it was a very very cool guitar. I ended up trading it for an SG.tony_clifton wrote:They have blackface knobs, too!Fred the Shred wrote:Eek! Double heresy! A Tele with a 70's Strat headstock on a LP thread!
Jokes aside, never really got why Deluxes have the Strat headstock instead of the Tele one. Ah, well.
I like those guitars btw! But on my gaslist, they are positioned below a good tele (and some others).
Hey Wired, hows that black special? Have you got by any chance some more pics of it, esp. while playing would be nice!tony_clifton wrote:Wired wrote:

lets start off with mentioning how AWESOME this thread is, some amazing photos, all of them, the LP is a very sexy guitar and this is some top notch porn complete with the money shotblackcloud45 wrote:Bael, that's a standard so far as I know. I paid $1017.00 after tax for it back in 2000 @ GC. It is probably the best sounding guitar I own (out of 15). I really dug the finish. It's glossy, but not overly thick. I've played it a LOT.
here's my Honyburst Standard, a 1998 58' re-issue. its the bomb, them 90's pauls are some of the last good heavy ones, don't get me wrong the new Pauls play and sound awesome to, but i like the weight to it. the new ones come chambered and just feels weird to me, i like em heavy, maybe cause thats what i learned on, i had an old 75 custom for 10 years, wish i still had it. sold it to get a Fender Custom Shop "Cunetto Relic", awesome guitar, probably the best iv ever owned, but i craved the good old Paul i was used to so i sold it and got this amazing late 90's Standard, had no idea it was a re-issue till i pulled out the pups and it was written inside the pocket. NICE. i got it last year for $1300.00 thats pretty good as the 90's pauls are up there in price.
these are crappy pics i took with my phone..

Man, that looks just like my Honey Burst! Except I have the regular tuners. I need to take a pup out and see what's in there. I've been wondering what pups it has, they sound really good...

thats a nice Classic, i almost got a Classic when shopping for Pauls last year, can anyone explain the difference between the Classic and Standard be-side the price? and the yellowed in-lays?Tom wrote:

them new Pauls, the Classic and Standard are very nice guitars, light as a feather and resonate beautifully. outstanding sustain. i played quite a few in the stores.

Well went I went out I was looking at Standards and Customs but the classic appealed more to me.
It has a very slim neck, aged inlays and higher output uncovered pick ups.
So I suppose it's supposed to be an all out rock guitar rather than a normal Les Paul which is a bit more versatile.
Either way I got a great one and I love it!

i really like the plain top, im not all into flame tops, nice looking guitars, but i like the old classic basic look for me. i was trying real hard to not get a flame top. but what it really comes down to is how awesome it feels in the hands. i was lucky to find this great playing plain top honey burst...

When did they start weight reducing Les Pauls? Must have been within the last few years. My 05' Les Paul std weighs 9.5 lbs! Which is wicked. Heavier guitars just feel better for me also. Wish I had some pics for you guys.
