Lou, did you order that purple one like that? That's very pretty. I bet it was very expensive and a long wait? I've been toying w/ the idea of a custom shop SG. I saw one on the bay the other day that had abalone trapezoids, very cool.
Yes it was ordered that way, but not by me.
Gibson built it for my friend, a Gibson dealer at the time.
He got it for a price that you wouldn't believe, and I got him to sell it to me with warranty, COA, and all.
He personally picked out the wood and the color.
It's an amazing LP.

That was quite awesome! As well as a beauty of an SG.
I wish the custom shops would open up again for custom orders from anyone.

The shy LP is a Tokai Gold Top. Notice the Rocker 30 at the back.

The most Les Pauly guitar Fender ever made. Lacks a bit on the form factor though
I play bass.

Eek! Double heresy! A Tele with a 70's Strat headstock on a LP thread!
Jokes aside, never really got why Deluxes have the Strat headstock instead of the Tele one. Ah, well.

They have blackface knobs, too!
I like those guitars btw! But on my gaslist, they are positioned below a good tele (and some others).

Hey Wired, hows that black special? Have you got by any chance some more pics of it, esp. while playing would be nice!
I'm planning on making a move on one of those reissues
. (Great looking guitar I think!)
I play bass.

Is that honeyburst a regular standard Paul? Because it looks like a '59 or '60 VOS Lemonburst from that pic. It looks like it has an aged patina to it and a different look to a regular standard in general. I've actually had a Les Paul craving, too. I'm holding myself back from doing something stupid and buying another Les Paul. Yours is nice, though. I'd like one in that color in a '59 or a cherry sunburst, of course.

Bael, that's a standard so far as I know. I paid $1017.00 after tax for it back in 2000 @ GC. It is probably the best sounding guitar I own (out of 15). I really dug the finish. It's glossy, but not overly thick. I've played it a LOT.
