Maybe you would like to hear the whole song:

The other guitars are recorded with a "Behringer V-Amp", which is not that bad for recording

A couple of Grand Funk Railroad covers recorded with a fretless Gibson Ripper bass through an Orange OBC115 1x15 cab miked with a regular Shure SM57 into a Fostex VF160 Digital Multitrack.

Edit: I added this track to present a bit cleaner sound (less gain on the amp).

Thanks animapersa,

I used a Fender Mexico Powerhouse Strat, with a "Eric Clapton"-like Midboost. Pickup: neck/middle Position.
The AD30 in channel one, don't know about EQ-settings.

Btw: I uploaded the final version of the song, with the solo-part a bit louder, and other changes:

The link for the OTR 80 (is now defunct) a) as Radio 1 have taken the mp3 down and b) as the amp isnt actually an OTR 80, its an OTR 120 labelled wrong!

However all the material on www.myspace.com/thejunglists was recorded with a strat straight into the OTR 120. I have some clean clips which i can host somewhere as well if anyone is interested.

Here is a song that my band recently demoed: http://www.adelphirock.com/HALO2.mp3

All guitars were Fender's, US Fat strat on the bridge, Highway-1 Tele w/ Lollar Vintage T's, through my AD30TC 2x12 combo.

Bass was a Musicman through an SVT Classic RI.

enjoyyyyyy

The first track, "Evaporate," has no Orange on it. It was recorded using a JCM800 and Vox.

The other sounds sounds were recorded as such:

Dirty:

Les Paul Standard
Gibson Sg standard ---> orange ad-140tc into both Greenback loaded Hughes and Kettner cabinet and an orange cab w/ v-30'g12h30 mixed. The same signal went as well to a Vox ac-30 handwired edition with blues mic'd which also out to the greenback cab as well. The dirty tracks were mixed according to amp, cab, speaker, etc. to varying degrees depending on the song.

Clean: Les Paul and Sg into Keeley compressor into Vox and Ad-140tc into Orange cab. The Vox was mixed much more prominent on those tracks.

On "Requiem," I used a Electro Harmonics Micro Synth. On "With One Flinch," I used a Roland Re-201 Space Echo on the verses, and on Adult Bones I used a Green Big Muff and a Moog Murf on the choruses.

ROCKER 30 COMBO
Yesterday I recorded my 2005 American Ash w/maple neck Tele -> Keely Compressor -> broken and unpredictable Mr. Echo box-> through my new Rocker 30 Combo. I used an external Bogner 1x12 cabinet in this case (my next post will be with the internal speaker) with a SM57 going through my RME Fireface.

In Logic I added a compressor, the 'spreader' plugin (for no reason other than I could), some Space Designer plate reverb, and a couple of very light echo/reverb/FX patches to the guitar using Logic Pro. There was NO EQ applied to the guitar track, just some minor EQ in the stereo mix. I spent a total of one hour on everything.

The track is called Ghost on Fire, (partially based on the film I am working on, Ghost Rider).

I wanted to record my guitar because my Mr. Echo box was malfunctioning- and it sounded absolutely freaky!!

Hope you all enjoy!!

Song is linked at this single page website--

Rock on!!

<b><font size="4">Hey guys -- I appreciate all of those who have posted sound links thus far, but lets keep the extraneous conversations/postings to a minimum.

The idea is so that people don't have to wade though all that stuff.

Not singling anyone out or anything I just don't want this thread to have to many non-sound clip posts.

Remember you can PM other forum members with small talk or just start a whole other thread.

Thanks again,
Chris 8)

PS: Now post more sound clips.[:(!][:(!][:(!][:p]

Hello,

I bought an Orange Crush 30R Combo a few days before christmas. I was pretty unsure if I would like that amp, because I had absolutely no idea how it would sound like (I already owned a Roland Micro Cube and just wanted something "bigger"). As firebird1999us wrote in the first post, soundclips "are no substitute for hearing/playing it in person", but to be honest: I just ordered it without playing first. However, I haven't regret to do so :-)
Well, since there aren't any soundclips available for Orange Crush Combos (but were requested by a few of you guys), I thought I record some samples for you. I'm pretty new to E-Guitar, so don't expect anything fancy.

You can find them here: http://www.keen-web.de/projects/guitar/. The page still looks pretty poor, but I plan to extend and improve it, i.e. add more soundclips with different settings of the amp and the guitar.

Hope you enjoy,
Christian

I just finally got my hands on a mic today, so I thought I could post this clip I recorded just now in my living room. Here's the details

Song: "Oracle" (segment), written to be performed by 3 of my students who are really into hard-rock and metal (I prefer bluesy things)
Mic: Shure SM 57 LCE
Guitar: Ibanez SZ1220 Prestige
Amp: Orange RV50C
Recording settings: Amp quite quiet, maybe on about 2. Bass on 5, Treble on 6, mid on 4.5, dirty channel. Reverb on 1 for all three parts. There are no effects except for a bit of delay on the solo part, and the parts are panned. Recorded using Nuendo from Steinberg, through my Presonus Firebox interface (firewire). All parts are on the bridge pickup, except for the solo which is the neck pickup. For those who are unfamiliar with the guitar, that means humbuckers in both cases.

Apologies for any roughness in the recording or performance; I just had not really any time...did the whole song in an hour. I usually would have all guitar parts recorded with a room condenser as well, plus maybe would have practised the solo a bit more instead of taking the second take. Here is the link:
