OFFICIAL ORANGE SOUND CLIP THREAD
Moderator: bclaire
I posted these awhile back in its own thread, but I thought I'd put them here in the right place for reference.
http://www.soundclick.com/bands/default ... dID=505820
the full details are posted within each individual clip. but basically its the Rocker 30 head thru a Splawn 4x12 with a couple different PRS guitars(fairly high output pickups).

Aup . had my RV50 now for nearly two years.LOVE IT. had a problem with the transformer and the boys in the workshop sorted it. I missed it like a week without beer and the fist sip was divine! got some groove tubes 6v6 in and she barks like a mule. check out:

ACER
My new used ad30tc in action. Just a minute long and the 'playing' leaves something to be desired but I am in love with this amp.

Orange Rocker 30 - Sound Enhancer - LP Jr. DC initial impressions - photos - clip
I liked my JCM800 and SG for over a year. I thought It was THE perfect sound for me. But recently I started to think it was too metal/hard rock sounding for me. Maybe I just needed a change to keep it interesting. I recently picked up a Gibson Les Paul jr Double cut. I replaced the P90 with a Kent Armstrong HP90 noiseless pick-up. The pick up really does get rid of the hum the stock P90 had. The guitar is light and fun to play. The fret edges aren't as smooth as on my SG but it plays really well.
I thought the amp sounded a bit thin on it's own at quieter levels. It sounds fuller at loud volumes. I tried out a Celestion G12H speaker and it added more low end but it lacked the midrange bark that I liked so much with the Celestion Vintage 30 speaker. So I put the Vintage 30 back in and put the amp on top of The Sound Enhancer amp stand. It sounds great. the Enhancer makes the amp louder and boosts the low end. The Vintage 30 sounds great now. The enhancer I have is the mini size. It's meant for a Champ sized amp. But it's seems to work fine with the Rocker 30.
Before I tried the amp at the store, the sales guy said the amp has a very dry sound. He was right. I love the dry sound it has. I only need one sound. I don't need a clean sound, so I don't care about the clean channel. I only use the Dirty channel.
I've played one show with the amp so far. the amp was mic'd so I had the amp on the Enhancer stand and turned it sideways so it was pointed at the band. The rest of the band was able to hear the guitar much better than my JCM 800. The sound cuts through much better. with the JCM 800 I rarely turned the volume past 1 1/2 with the Orange amp I turn up to around 4. It's plenty loud with a drummer.
I made a clip. the photos show the mic set up and tha amp settings. at the end of the clip I turned down the amp gain to get a cleaner sound.
