Rocker 30 Oh My!
So I just bought a Rocker 30 Combo today that I have been saving for and OH MY! This thing is so amazing! Just the right amount of crunch, clarity, low-end, bright leads. I wanted something to gig with, as I want to start leaving my '59 bassman at home where she belongs...safe and sound.
I am so happy with it! I can't believe how loud a 30 watt amp can be!

congrats ! I've had my R-30 combo for going on 3 years now and I'm still finding new sounds in it, I couldn't be happier, and very portable for gigs. I feel bad for the guys hauling around huge 4x12's and 100 watt heads, just one trip with amp, guitar and pedal board over the shoulder!

Haha, I hear that! I love the dirty tones out of the amp, and I'm still finding new stuff.Companyman wrote:congrats ! I've had mine for a few years now and I still dig it. I have gigged w/ it by itself as well as driving my Orange 4X12. I use it for smaller gigs, practice @ home and as a backup to my RV50H.

Yeah the R30 is awesome. I use the Head with PPC112 or PPC212 depending on venue. More schlepping but the tones are to die for. And I hear you on the loud for 30 watts thing. Band was sound checking for a 2000 + outdoor festival and when I cranked the R30 up the sound guy said 'Hey....not sure you need miced !'. He was about fifty yards away at the time......(I did mic up..guess he was just jokin while making a point !)
Enjoy the amp. It will serve you well......

Yesss. The Rocker 30 rules. It sounds awesome when its cranking out the loudness (and possibly giving me volume-induced vertigo, long story), but also is so so sweet at bedroom levels. I run my R30 combo through my Avatar 112 with a greenback as well, and I love it. I've only been playing tube amps for about 3 years, and have had my R30C for about 3 months, and I haven't even lusted over another amp (and don't see myself doing so, unless circumstances are right), whereas with my Tiny Terror, as much as I loved it, I was always wanting something more.
Congrats on the purchase. I saved up for mine, and when I was finally able to put down all the money, credit and trade-ins, it was a momentous day. I've never been so pleased and happy with a big gear purchase as the Rocker 30. (I usually get IMMEDIATE buyer's remorse after buying a guitar or amp... it usually subsides though... unless the amp in question is a Vox AC15... ick)

we did a couple of shows in melbourne over easter... i knew both of the other bands we played with and so for the first time i got to hear my own amp from an audience p.o.v with an early 70s SG and an early 70s firebird... both of the other guitarists had never really played through the orange - one guy was blown away and the other said he was definitely going to buy one... needless to say both sounded fabulous... particularly the firebird

Me too Joey. My Orange Dealer right now has a RV50, RV100, AD30 Combo, and a TT Combo. They have had them there for probably more than six months. I don't think they had sold an Orange for quite some time until I bought my TT Head. They go through Orange cabs like nobody's business though. Lol. They have a 3/4 stack coming soon!Joey22 wrote:Congrats! I need to play a rocker 30...
Congrats kat_shredda.

Ha, I've only played the Tiny Terror(obviously) and the Rockerverb 50. Although, I don't comment on the RV50, because I only had like 10 minutes with it...I've never played an el34 amp though....
