Boss RE-20 Space Echo and T-Rex Fuel Tank

Post by Jacco428 » Fri Mar 27, 2009 4:01 pm

Does anyone else use a RE-20 space echo with a mulit-power supply instead of its original power adapter ?

My setup used to work fine, but lately my Space Echo seems to have difficulties with power from my fuel tank - there's a drone in the rhythm of the delay setting. When I'm using the original adapter the drone disappears.

Is there someone who uses a power supply without these problems ?

When I had one it would frequently just not turn on when the board was plugged in. I had to plug and unplug it 3 or 4 times to get it to come on. The issue went away when it was not plugged into a multi power supply. That was a deal breaker for me. Now it's long gone.

you need to run it on it's own isolated power supply...unless you want your amp to sound like Darth Vader

Vox Time Machine

Diamond Memory Lane?

EHX DMM with TT mod?

T-Rex Replica?

Not sure about all of these, but that's where I'd start looking.

Image I use mine with the Voodoo Lab PP2+ The problem you have may be caused by another pedal. The Fuel Tank is not seperately isolated like the PP2+. I had the same problem that you mention before I changed to the PP2+. Now the pedal is dead silent (except when it does what it is suppose to do).

Like Magnus said; Get the VooDoolab Pedal Power 2+.
It's expensive, but worth it.
Mine works without a single glitch for some time now.
Never ran hot.
Nothing negative about it.

Here's the solution :

Plug your RE-20 "9v DC" input into the "12v DC" output of your Fuel tank and... No more "drone" ;)

And don't worry, Boss pedals runs fine between 9v and 12v.

Cheers

Try one of these: http://www.thegigrig.com/acatalog/TheGi ... ttery.html
Worked well for my troublesome pedals who "needed" their own power supply.

Amen. I've got one for my troublesome-yet-I-can't-live-without-it Echo Park pedal, and it does exactly what it says. :)
