wow, yeah, thats to cheap to be true, i think sometimes folks post these type of listings just to see the reaction.
be awesome to get this guitar and that 54' fender tweed that was on the boston Craigs last week for $900 bucks. that would be an awesome rig. wow. a 64 strat into a 54 tweed, NICE...

It does seem like a good deal.
I was in a pub watching a pretty good band. Got chatting to the guitarist during the break as I noticed he was using a cool strat. Turned out to be an original 64 that he had bought second hand around '75 (the guy was probably in his 50's).
The band were ribbing him with 'not gonna play that old thing!'
I was surprised that he would take it out to do pub gigs... lovely sound...

Don't think so... it's got quite a few dents to the paintwork, and although i've seen similar guitars go for more, they're usually in better nick, but are also sold in the sort of shops that will charge a premium for it.
In a private sale, yeah, £1700 isn't bad at all. Maybe he needs a quick sale or has nicked it, i don't know, but it's not too good to be true.
Chap I came across the other day had bought an original nocaster for a similar price.

That's an amazing deal, given that I was reading a Johnny 5 interview the other day where he was talking about paying something like $35,000 for a Broadcaster.
