Hey guys.
I am wondering what tubes would be appropriate to allow me to clean up Ch.1 of my AD30TC Combo.

Any suggestions?

Some lower gain preamp tubes would be a good start - you can buy good NOS 12AT7, e.g. Brimars or Mullards, for much less than 12AX7 of the same brands. I have 12AT7 Mullards in my AD30's channel 1 and it definitely increased headroom, as well as sweetening the tone generally over the JJs I had previously.

..and if 12AT7/ECC81 isn't good enough, go for 12AU7/ECC82 for even less gain. :)

I'm speaking out of my a$$. Yours might differ.

Would I need to be concerned about Biasing the amp by changing the Preamp Tubes?
