OMG OMG OMG!!! LP Trade continued...

As mentioned earlier I had an offer to get a JCM2000 DSL401 and a Black Sparkle Jet on trade for my LP straight across.

Well I was in one of my local shops on my lunch break, and the guys there asked me if I still had my LP. They got someone looking for a Light Burst, 50's neck Standard, they also know how well it plays.

They are offering me this straight across on trade:



this is not the exact pic, but it's pretty much it. No bigsby, and will all the case goodies, BRAND NEW.

I'm so tempted to do it, because I know I could get another LP back for trading this one away really really fast.

Another shop wants my LP, and will give me this

yea I'm thinkin really hard about doing it... this Penguin is pretty personal too. It was stolen from my store twice and I recovered it BOTH times. I can't believe it's still on the shelf as new. It has never been 'sold'.

I'm thinkin that if I do the trade now, even if I don't like it and want the LP back, it's worth so much coin in comparision I could get any used LP pretty quickly.

I think it's right up there for 'feeling good'. I'd have to play it again side by side to really make my decision...not to mention play it with the band.

But it's a tough one, it's a BEAUTIFUL guitar... but I don't remember liking the Dynasonic pickups... I know I can change them out for TV Power Trons...and since I was gonna Gretsch pups for my LP anyways.... this just helps me get closer to 'that' sound.

I figured out...I want the AC/DC tone, but with about another 10db of gain! lol

I would trade, if for no other reason than the coolness factor, everybody has a Lp or similar but how often do you see one of those on stage, I never have in my neck of the woods, but we don't get a lot of bands. And like you said you can always use that for an easy trade if you find you don't like it.

I like grestch, but it won't have the raw power factor of an LP, no guitar can. It's really what you want out of a guitar really.

Personally speaking, I would trade.

White Penguins are very cool looking guitars and quite rare. My 2nd fav Gretsch would be a Black Penguin, which I have never seen in person.

I guess what really matters is how it plays and feels in your hands.
