Hello,

I was wondering out of curiosity, are the higher watt orange amps as the ad30, rocker 30, rockerverb 50 and so on, sounds good at low volume (bed room level)?

I have a tiny terror and one of the things I like about it is that I can run it at low volume and it still sounds good (with the gain knob high or low).

I know there are amps (at least from what I have heard) that are considered low watt amp but they start to sound good or shine only in high volume.

I guess I am asking this to know whether an AD30 would be an appropiate choise for home using instead of a tiny terror (and for home using only).

I play my AD30TC at low volumes in my apartment quite often.. I personally think it sounds really good still.

With my AD30, i find that if i roll back the gain slightly and push the master up to a reasonable/bedroom level, i can still get some great sounds out of it.

With my rocker 30, a compressor,a boost-pedal and an keeley sd-1 I can get all sounds I ever want at any volume, even really low ones. Easy to dial in an marshall tm-45 sound at bedroomlevel, wich would been impossible with a marshall wich really needs to get cranked to sound good.

I've played my R30 at levels so low my wife could sleep in the same room without being woken up. And it still sounded great. The only thing I would change about the R30 combo is make it have some sort of magic hover craft bottom so it wouldn't need to be carried. Or I could wish for more manliness and less whining. It's not that heavy. ;)

I play my RV50 at home and it sounds great... sounds better cranked at a gig though.

(That's not because the sound improves, just coz it's louder!) :D

The Rockerverb have really good mastervolumes, better than most amps I've tried.
