Just played the $17K strat @ GC. Is it worth that much? None are IMO.

This guitar is fantastic! It plays beautifully thanks to the HUGE frets. It sounds just as good as it plays in all positions. What a phenomenal axe. I am really impressed. Nevermind the relic aspect of it. It's just awesome.

I also played a Way Huge Pork Loin, Swollen Pickle, and Fat Sandwich. If I was going for that kind of thing my money would be on the Fat Sandwich. The other two? Not so much...

Pork Loin was the weakest of the bunch IMO.

I have the reissue Swollen Pickle, it is not bad,
think I still like my Barber Trifecta better...
running the two together with the Barber first does
produce so incredible low end chunkiness and does sound
really cool...honestly not sure how often I would use that
combination personally...

Going to give it about one more week and then unless I find
I cannot live without it, on to eBay it will go...[:0][:0][:0]

The Pickle was ok to me. More like a TS... I felt like the Sandwich was the most versatile.

Way too expensive or signature (or both) guitars I've played:

Jeff Beck Esquire
EVH Frankenstein
David Gilmour replica
Rory Gallagher
Robin Trower
Bonnie Raitt
Buddy Guy
SRV Lenny replica

Honestly, the Jeff Beck and the Lenny were the best.

Second best was David Gilmour and Rory Gallagher

Third, the rest.

Funny how the price parallels the playability / sound :)

If I had dough to waste, I'd be all over the Malmsteen tribute!

Pork Loin? Swollen Pickle? Why do those things have such ridiculous names?

They're probably hoping whoever plays it will drop it and add to the relic valueImage
