Haha, that's awesome. Isn't that a Epiphone "Emily the Strange" SG?

I think I just had some sort of strange, sick, pop-culture-comes-full-circle kind of epiphany.

i love hip hop. love it. and weezy and all this cash money s--- is like the worst thing to happen to hip hop. like, ok, dude knows how to rhyme words. who gives a s---? there's absolutely no substance to his lyrics and half the time, you can't understand a damn thing he's saying anyway cuz he's all loaded on cough syrup and philly blunts.

gimme some old school common sense or any aesop rock album (even bazooka tooth, and that one sucked) any day over this s---. hell, i'll even get down on some UGK or dipset before i'll listen to fxckin lil wayne.

"I rarely know what you're talking about" but I love the word combo of "bazooka tooth".

and i guess he's putting out a rock abum (shudders): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FEhCZmSC6Sc

That's awesome Andy, my wife just said "so he's tried this numerous times then. Does he think he's good?"

Haha, once would be a gimmick, but multiple times is just "sick" as my wife just said. Haha, what a joker.

that's the thing that really makes me hate hip-hop, rap, whatever. it just sounds like total crap live. that leads me to believe it's just studio magic heaped atop non-talented mouthpieces.

i can see it now- the latest trend: an army of no talent dudes raping instruments and people just lining up to shell out their hard earned $$$ to take part of the massacre. i just threw up in my mouth.

i guess there could be two positives:

1) the "people" will realize the sham and start to seek out true musicians?

2) the rappers will suddenly realize that it takes a little bit more than sampling real music to actually CREATE and PLAY great music.

of course all these statements make me sound like a jaded a-hole. well, maybe i am :).

Some guys are great at doing what they do, thought live acts that I've seen (and these aren't many so take my thoughts with a grain) seem to be just a DJ spinning an instrumental backing track to a singer.

I'd take an Emily the Strange SG, it's not the graphics I have a hard time with, it's the headstock shape on Epis. ;)

bazooka tooth is an album by aesop rock and el-p. a phenomenal MC and a great producer, but the album only has mayby 3 good songs on the whole thing. it's also an alias that aes uses when he's rapping.

i'm big on that def jux stuff, so...
