i have a rockerverb 50 combo amp.


Yesterday dirty channel was working fine.


Now I have a muddy and QUIET sound coming out which is unusual.

Clean channel is working fine I think. It is the dirty channel that got messed up.


Is it time to change the tubes in my rockerverb?


IF it is what do you recommend buying?

preamp tubes probably if the clean channel is fine- i like jj12ax7s but it's a matter of personal taste. search the forum for tube layout so you know which ones to swap out first.

so do I have to change the preamps? Or the 4 output tubes?

Preamp tubes. Since the clean channel sounds fine/the same as always, it should be a preamp tube.

Yes swap out the dirty channel preamp valves one at a time. See pic here:
