That work well with the RV50? I'm finding more and more all the time!
Barber LTD (Silver in my case)
Catalinbread Silverkiss (gain down, volume up... wow!)
Fulltone OCD
Barber Direct Drive
Rat
Running a Rat into the Silverkiss = yummy smooth lead tones.
Eric will probably pop in soon and say Box of Rock and Timmy (and maybe BB Preamp and the LTD Silver). Great suggestions, though I've not tried them all.
Many like the Okko Diablo with Orange amps.
YMMV!

Hah! I agree, how could one want more distortion/gain from the dirty channel?
On the clean channel, I'm having great success/sound with a Tim for medium overdrive, then a Zendrive stacked on it for leads, really doing the job.
Pedals that I tried that weren't cutting it - Box of Rock, OKKO Diablo (both of those were pretty good, but not as good as Tim/Zen) Xotic BB+ (not bad but too midrangy for me), T-rex Moller (really didn't work).

I misread your post... you DO want metal.
An EQ in the FX loop might do wonders with the RV50's dirty channel. It certainly has enough gain, but maybe not the ideal voicing.
Metal Muff is surprisingly good.
The Reezafratziz with an EQ would rock, however, I'm holding my breath: the PisdiYAUwot looks like it will absolutely slay.
I wanted more gain and distortion off of dirty channel.
Any suggestion on pedals?
And it is for metal not rock.

I whole-heartedly disagree.
Example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=slEboEJGlls
I get 90% of the way to Killswitch Engage and Bury Your Dead with a Les Paul (passive pickups) and the RV50.
Throw an EQ in the fx loop, add a boost in front (or active pickups), going into the right cab (Orange 4x12, Bogner Uberkab), and you will get there.
Don't forget: your tuning, the parts you play, and the way you attack the guitar are half of the equation.

It has a mixed reputation around here but I very much like my Fulltone Fulldrive 2 Mosfet. It makes the TS9 sound thin as tissue paper. With its controls, switches and of course guitar/amp EQ I can get a good variety of tones from slightly broken up to roaring. It can't and won't do Mesa scoopy stuff but then that's why I got rid of a Mesa.

Uhhh...I'm going to have to agree with some of the others - if the RV50 doesn't have enough gain/distortion for you - you have the wrong amp. The RV50 distorts to the point of ludicrous mushiness. If you want metal tones - or what is traditionally considered to be "metal" tones - you've got the wrong amp. Doesn't mean you can't play metal on the RV50 - just means you can't make it sound like a Rectoverb or Uberschall or some other more tight metal amp, IMO.
