the gt500 is one of the coolest I've found so far but had absolutely no sustain compared to the little big muff. It's almost kind of synthy to have sustain like that but the muff is really only good for lead.

<br />note: not looking for fuzz, thanks though. I dig my big muff for the muddy/fuzzy stuff, im looking for something with the same rediculous sustain but in a regular OD/distortion.

Tried a Rat 2. My Orange didn't like it (harsh sounding). The Reesa is the best I have found so far. The MI Crunch box is also good for the money.

Get the BB+ Pre-amp from Xotic. It's two BB pre-amps in one pedal, so you can stack them. It is known for it's clarity and less coloring of your tone. Very punchy. I use it with my RV to get the middle tones during a gig on the fly. The clean channel can't generate crunch really, and the dirt channel is wonderful for leads, but no time to fiddle with it to get crunchy chords. The BB+ works great, I set one side for the chord work, then use the other side for a boost if needed.

Barber Trifecta - it is billed as a fuzz pedal for people who hate fuzz pedals! I got one because I'd been through a lot of fuzzes and hated that bottom end fart-out you get on chords - the Trifecta retains the fuzzy character, but holds up a lot better on the low end with much more bass note definition.
