I'm looking for a small amp... something I can take over to friends places to jam and whatnot.

How do the two compare in terms of tone/voice? Does the AD5 stay clean a long time? Or does it breakup pretty fast?

Daisy.....I have played both.
In my opinion the TT blows the AD5 away...in sound, tone and build.
The AD5 just felt cheap...the TT feels like a real amp.
It's very easy to think that the AD5 must be a smaller AD30 or 15 in sound and tone but it's not.

Don't take my word...try them. :)

I am with Brian, after a week or so I sold my AD5.
Still miss my Tiny Terror, but really have no use
for a 15 watt amp currently!.

I tried them both out two days ago and I still want a TT, can't say the same about the AD-5.

I have the TT and its alot more of an amp then
the ad5. If you need something inbetween (money and power)
I'd suggest a Fender Blues Junior NOS.

+1 on everything said here.
AD5 felt like more of a toy than an amp.
I don't know why it's considered a classic, imo...

Haven't played the TT combo, but I've had the head, so I kinda know what to expect.

The TT is giggable (in most circumstances, if you don't need super clean) and the AD5 is not.

This alone makes the TT a better choice. I don't see the AD5 as anything other than a decent practice amp, but without eq, gain and a headphone socket its limited, which is why i guess alot of people have a solid state practice amp, or have a small valve head with a headphone out and digital effects (reverb, trem, etc)
