Last night I saw The Notwist. One of the guys was using two Wii controllers to manipulate some electro-sampler type thing (I don't know much about electronic music stuff.)

It was really nifty. He'd wave them around, twist them, and use the buttons to control his sampler.

Does anybody know anything about this?

Yeah, I saw it a while ago, I can't think of what it was though. I tried it out at home, was pretty interesting... was this a local band Flip?

I just saw a TV spot for "Wii Music." Apparently, you can "Play over 60 different instruments." Other than that, it was pretty vague.

I used to have more Orange stuff. Now I just have a PPC412 (black), and a Micro Crush.

I think you guys misunderstand me. It wasn't a Wii video game (I wasn't aware there was such a thing.) This guy was using Wii controllers to operate some other device (I think it was a sampler (?) of some kind.

Notwist are a German group. They've been around since '89.

It doesn't seem like it would be too much of a task to integrate the controllers with samplers, especially if those devices already accept infrared signals.

You can connect wimotes to any PC with a bluetooth adaptor, and there are all kind of cool drivers for utilising them.

Sound On Sound (SOS) magazine did an article on how to use a wii controller to control MIDI recently - I think it was the October edition.

Haha - I just got pro status, and the special ball that goes with it. Tennis is my favourite - I'm at about 2100 and their top pros can't get a point off me:D.

How long before they've got a guitar game? I bet I wouldn't be a pro at that:D:D[:p].
