Ok, I played a 15r in store and I like it but wanted
more power so I ordered a 30r with the intention of
replacing the stock speaker for a Celestion Vintage 10".
I started a thread earlier and someone responded that
their 30r had an 8 ohm 10" speaker. Well, my speaker
says its a 40w rms 4 ohm speaker. I don't see speakers
for anything lower than 8 ohms at Celestion, Eminence,
or Jenson. Anyone have any idea if I can replace the
speaker or will it tear up the power supply or something?

you might be able to put in an 8 ohm resistor in front of the speaker, this should drop the ohm rating down to the 4 that you require, but I am not an electrician by any means so please double check before doing this. If you check with your local stereo shop or amp tech they can probably point you in the right direction. Hope this helps.

If it's got a 4 ohm speaker in there, then that's what should go back in. You can use an 8 ohm speaker but you'll lose some power by doing it and the tone will suffer as well. If you really want to try another 10" speaker and you have only an 8 ohm there, you can strap an 8 ohm resistor across the speakers terminals in parallel (jumping the + to -) and you'll create a 4 ohm load. The resistor needs to be a 15w or 20w type. That said, the speakers that come in the Crush series amps are very good and were designed specifically to go in there.

You'll likely get worse sound from another speaker, even if it costs more and has a brand name that you are familiar with. A much easier way to test this is to simply take the amp back into the store and tell them that you'd like to try and connect it to a cab to hear what another speaker sounds like. If they have the PPC112, you'll get to hear a V30 although it'll be 16 ohms. The impedance mismatch isn't an issue as far as damaging a solid state amp as it is for a tube amp, but it can definitly effect the tone. Long story short, I'd save your money and learn to dial in some good tones from the amp as is.

Yeah my tiny terror is ran through a ppc212 so I know how
v30's sound. I actually like how the 30r sounds the way it is and
I suppose putting a $100.00 speaker in a $179.99 amp may sound silly
but I'm only considering it because I do like it and don't mind
investing a little cash and maybe in the end having something a little different than everyone else, ya know? I suppose the way my
mind works is that if it's good now than what will it be like with
a better speaker....

"Not as good" would be my experience with them. They really have done a good job with matching the speaker to the amp. I know that it sounds logical that a "better" speaker would make the amp have a "better" sound but it isn't logic that we are dealing with here, it's electronics. The amp was voiced based on that speaker being in there and it roars with it. The British lion may very well be replaced with a kitten when you swap speakers.

Why don't you just make a speaker lead to 1/4" cable or adapter and connect your C30R output to your PPC212 and have a listen? It won't sound just like a 1x10 of course but if it sounds worse, then you'll know to spend your money elsewhere. I tried a Celestion 8" speaker in a 15r and didn't care for it at all compared to the stock speaker. YMMV

My use for the 30r is quite odd I suppose.
I'm using an a/b box so that my Looper is played only
through the 30r and my guitar signal only is coming
through the tiny terror. I not sure why (maybe looper and guitar
makes for a busy signal to ppc212) but there is a clarity
there and the added dimension I get when separating the
looper from my main amp. Then I can jam to my loops and
use swictching pedal if I want tooverdub a loop. I know it
sounds complicated and probably weird. I don't have anyone
to play music with so I kind of mamimized my solo experience.

I'm watching a fellow named Liam from New Zealand doing just that on TV at the moment. He plays drums too. :-D The first person that I ever saw use a looper live was Jorma Kaukonen.

Yeah, that's the one. He's OK, a little on the obnoxious side after a while but some real energy and some deep grooves...
