Now I forget what thread it was that I posted something about this, but here's my reply.
I was trying to track down a ground loop hum in my PA. I got a DBX 231 dual 31 band EQ for the PA and now I have a ground loop. The DBX manual says to lift the shield at the input of a device- that the loop is created through the common shields. So I did that... still has the hum. So I had been using a 2 prong to 3 prong adaptor but I don't like doing that. So I bought an Ebtech Hum-X, and tried it. It works perfectly although I have no way of knowing that I am fully protected from a lifted ground...
... but I feel better about the PA!
Oh and my chain is Mic- Alesis MultiMix16- DBX 231- Crown CS2000- Turbosounds. Also, out to a Crown CS1000 to Turbosound monitors.
