What's the purpose of the p/u covers there? Purely cosmetic, or do they help in the shielding?

1 thing im confused about a little bit... I see you plugged in the 4x10 cab into the 1x15.. then ran it into the 8 ohm jack it looks like.. is that OK to do??? I always was under the impression that you had to plug one cab into the 8 ohm jack.. and if you had 2 cabs.. you split the load by connecting them up to the 4 ohm jacks... someone help me out!
Funny how Oranges stick out like a sore thumb! Nice pics

But you're not wrong to wonder, because...

quote:
The 15 says its an 8 ohm cab. so i have the amp connected from the 8 ohm output to the 15 (8ohm) to the 410. The 410 inputs arent marked as anything specific.
Please correct me if i am wrong.

The Orange 410 should be an 8 ohm cab too. Running the two in parallel (as you are by daisy chaining them) will give a total load of 4 ohms, so you really should be plugging into a 4 ohm amp output as Ceddy was thinking.
It's always best to match impedances properly with valve amps. But at least if you are going to mis-match you are better doing it the way you did, with the load being lower then the output you used. Rather then having a higher impedance load then the amp output you are using. So you shouldn't have done any damage, but you will be safer using the 4 ohm out in the future. The amp will probably sound a little tighter, and you'll not wear out your power valves as fast
Well spotted Ceddy. Good call!
Good guide to the whole impedance thing:
