I was at a comic book shop this past week and saw this anime with a kid playing guitar on the DVD case. I checked it out online and downloaded the series. I think I'm gonna buy it tomorrow so I can have it in better quality...

Anyways, it's this anime called 'Beck: Mongolian Chop Squad' and it's about this 9th grader that falls in with some 20 somethins and ends up frontin the band.

The cool part is that it's got a really good story that I was able to relate too, and the character development is pretty good too. Very music oriented, and things like guitars and stuff are very accurate in their portrayal. Even when they zoom in on the fret boards it seems correct on what their doing. In fact, there are times where the detail of the individual instruments is pretty amazing. They also go through quite a few different guitars.

The music isn't bad. It's not the greatest, but it's pretty decent for an OST. The series I downloaded was an english dub that was shown on Much Music...god knows when.

Check it out. Some of you might already have seen it, but it's pretty damn cool. I watched 10 epiodes tonight because I couldn't get to sleep. I could finish the series off before the wife goes to work (short, 20min or somin episodes) but I don't wanna blast through the whole series in one night. :?
