Excellent thank you!
I've read good things about the JJs as well as the EH....

edit-
just thinking back about the original topic of this thread...

It doesn't make much sense that the output stage tubes would wear
because of leaving the amp in stand-by. After all, they're not "outputting" anything. hehe

Not saying it good to leave 'er in stand-by, I'll be shutting it off now,
but perhaps the amp did get worn at the shop before I got it.

i have tried various tubes in my oranges over the years (ad15/12, Rocker 30c and ROckerverb 50C) but have alway gone back to harma's from watford valves in the uk. the burst test the el84's for brian may's vox rig and really know their stuff. THey do drive tested preamp tubes too so u can get some really dirt outta your ad amp? total personal preferance but i think they have more "bite" than the JJ's (which are also great) as with all things its never easy to choose. JJ's sounded better at home but the extra "cut" of the harma's were much better live. good luck 8) let us know how u get on.

P.S. turn yer bloody amp off ya dafty! think of the electricity wastage. just because we all love orange doesnt mean we cant be a little bit green! ;)

Got my new el84s and all is good.
Everyone can get some rest now! hehe

No more random snap crackle pop,
and things sound a little clearer too.

I ended up w/ the groove tubes quad.
Not by choose, but that's all they had,
so I decided to give 'em a try.

Thanks everyone,
Tomek.
