ok, so here's the story. I picked up a violin in a pawn shop for $20 damaged(it didn't have a bridge). It was a Kiso Suzuki Strad copy from '69. Came with a bow and case. I put it on craigslist and was trying to trade for a rack tuner or something nifty for my bass rig. I ended up trading dead even for an 1984-1987 MIJ strat w/ hsc. I messaged Fender with the serial and their database only covers present day to 1993. I called elderly.com and they gave me about as much as the fender site does with serials. The heel of the neck is stamped ST-357V as is the nec cavity. Does anyone know what any of that stands for? I've searched google and whatnot and came up fairly empty. If anyone could help me out it would be super.

Thanks!

This was also what I thought, BUT it doesn't have the same headstock decal as the as the '57 RI's have. I can get a pic up later on. It has a standard style headstock decal.

Hmm... two strings trees? Looks like someone put those on- they're not vintage styled. Tuners look non-original, too.

The V could stand for Vintage White also...

I've seen many a MIJ strat set up exactly like yours rudeger. It's a MIJ Standard Strat. I had one and loved it. One of a handful of guitars I wish I never sold. GREAT deal for $20. I love that vintage white looks old school. I'll give you $40 if you want to double your money. LOL

haha I don't think I'm getting rid of it that quick. Most of the Jap Strats I've seen look like this one too. Anyone know a good spot to get a tortoise shell pickguard(8 hole) for her cheap?
