I was just wondering if anyone could recommend some music that is similar to The Gone Jackals. I like this kind of hard rock, but there isn't much exposure where I live. (Or I've managed to miss it.)

Since you most likely don't know them, here's a youtube clip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AnqifO1QkvE

So anyone have any recommendations, old and new?

Thanks.

TGM........

Think you'll like these guys:

http://www.valientthorr.com/

They're on Volcom's label and are a top band, I came across them whilst on a trip to the US a couple of months back, bought all there back catalogue.

They have plenty of stuff on YouTube also....

It's a start.........

Haha, I loved Full Throttle, great game with an awesome sense of humour!

We just played a biker festival in Belgium, loads of these kind of 'dirty, greasy rock'n'roll' bands there :)

Yea, your stuff is good, like the slide usage :)

Valiant Thorr are good too. Thanks for the help.

Hmm, maybe if I look up some biker rock.

That reminds me of The Damned, except the slide which was Jimmy Page on steroids!

+1 for Trapeze but you have to get them with Glen Hughes.

We do - it's called Deadwood :) We're just starting work on a new one, however, which promises to be heavier and generally more RAWK! Hell yeah ;)

Jimmy Page on steroids, hehe - I like that :D

I can recommend a ton of biker-type rockin' bands, Fu Manchu and Clutch as mentioned before might be up your street - fuzzy rock! Of course, that Full Throttle song is hugely in debt to the legendary Motorhead - certainly worth checking out more if you're into that heavy, greasy rock thang :)

I see The Bellrays mentioned up there - funnily enough, they were one of the bands we shared a stage with in Belgium a few weeks back! They were very cool 8)

I'm surprised you haven't heard more bands like this locally by the way, as there seem to be loads of great rock acts coming out of Australia :)
