For channel switching i have this Boss FS5L.
Nice large switch and the led can be set to light on either the latch or unlatch position. It uses a AA battery for the led that lastst forever.
Good for using barefoot as well.

I've got an Apex. Cost around $15 and works like a charm. Feels pretty solid, metal casing with thick plastic sides. Kind of like the Fender switches. Has an LED. Something strange which I don't think is anything to do with the footswitch, but on my TH30 the LED was on with the clean channel, off with the dirty and it's the opposite with my RV50, the way it should be. Both amps have to have the dirty channel engaged for it to operate. They make dual switches as well.
Re: So, uhh, what ARE you using for a footswitch?
I bought an aluminum enclosure which was painted orange and just put a spst latching stomp switch in there, and a a quarter inch switchcraft jack. It just shorts tip to sleeve. There's no LED, but it switches the channels just fine.
Only cost me $7 to build.. I already had the jack and switch.

This thread was dug up by a bot posting. But Oranges did not use to come with footswitches. You had to order them seperately, and I think you still do on a model or two, but don't quote me on that. And in the orignal part of the post it was set up as someone was selling home made footswitches for the amps on the forum, and as it is stated in one of the sticky's there is no buying or selling on the forum.sidvicious wrote:i'm with wrath.

Orange stock footswitch. A few years back when they were tough to get I used an old Marshall switch that worked great. Finally found a place in New Hampshire that had them in stock! I am in Tejas.

I got a Marshall switch when I bought the Rocker. It cost me about GBP10 against 30 for an Orange.
Nothing flashy, but it works...and as you said Billy, absolutely essential to have one.

Re: So, uhh, what ARE you using for a footswitch?
When I got my RV50 a couple years ago, the footswitches did not come with it. And they were on back order when the amp arrived. The dealer let me use a fender switch until my Orange ones came in. The fender switch would not work on my Crate Vintage 30. When I got my Orange switches they worked on both the Crate and the Orange. They were less expensive than the Fender, better made (metal instead of plastic) and actually worked.

Re: So, uhh, what ARE you using for a footswitch?
I have a single-button Orange footswitch that is sturdy and well-built. I also have a few of the M*rshall footswitches (metal casing) that have the built-in cable with no molded strain relief. They suck donglewaggle. They will eventually short out and stop working. I have had one repaired (and modded with 1/4" output jack for a separate cable) and another needs to be repaired. I also have had one of the DPDT switches fail as well.
