Thanks Mark.I got the V out yesterday, and the tone is amazing. It has such clarity and responsivness.I haven't giged with it yet.The Retro hasn't seen much action either.I love the neck on the V.It is thiner than my other Gibsons. It is not the slim 60's profile though. The V really isn't my image, but I love the tone of that guitar.

Now ,if I can just convince myself that I don't look like the Jetsons playing that guitar.I will probably wind up playing a strat or my favorite guitar with P90's More my style.

I haven't heard the retro 50 before. How would you compare it to an old Fender for blues cleans?

It is a fact that it is a great guitar.I guess an old man can get by with playing it.It is the best sounding solidbody guitar with buckers that I have played.Still ahead of it's time fifty year later.

I love watching other people rip it up on a V. Me with a V? I look like a pin head and can never get comfortable playing them. Some of the best blues guitar tone I've heard came from Vs though (I'm thinking about Albert, of course).

Clay, you will look great playing the V, don't sweat it,
just keep remembering that fool that wore a pink zoot
suit at New Years playing his...you will be great!

Mark, it still saddens me that you no longer have that guitar...:( that picture of you in the pink suit with the white v made me smile.
