just wondering where you can buy valves in england, ive searched on the internet but they all seem to be in america

Yep, those are the two I buy from. Watford Valves is probably cheaper these days for most of them. Derek Rocco knows what he's on about also.

Watford valves don't list there prices with VAT added - Worth checking your sums before you order.
I've used them for a few years now and not had any problems. Had a few experiences with Hotrox UK not having stock in that they've advertised and allowed me to order from their website, but never had a bad product from them.

I get mine from the States though the only new stock tubes i've bought are chinese made el34s and kt66s. Make sure they are burned in at operating voltage not at about 300V which is what tube testers go to. This is often a failing point in that they match well at 300 volts but when you get 450+ on the plates in a real amp, they go to crap and die.

I get all my valves from Watford Valves - excellent service and power valves on last set were matched to within 0.5 mA of the previous set supplied.

www.tubeampdoctor.de in Germany also supplies valves - again good service.
