I have a TT and amongst others I have a blackstar HT Drive valve unit. To be honest when the gain on the TT is all up, the extra gain from a smooth unit like the HTdrive is negligable and unnoticable in a band situation. So you're gonna need an ugly type distortion to change the characturistics so that it's noticable but you will sacrifice the musicality that is the TT in the process. At full chat the TT gain is pretty awesome.

I use a MXR Dynacomp as a soloboost. Very good!!
