Ihave one of the last Jackson strats with bolt-on neck made in San Dimas in 1986. The body is made out of 2 planks of poplar covered by turquoise blue finition that Ive never really liked. Sometimes I think of ripp off the blue finition to see how is the wood under. BUT because I know that europeean poplar is not a very beautifull wood, I don't. Is it the same for american poplar ? Any chance to have a good surprise if I go for the natural finition ? I don't think so but perhaps someone has an answer ? Thanks.
