Anyone run an EQ pedal infront of their TT?

how does it work for a boost? (cranking up the overall level on the eq)

ever tried sucking out some volume and using it as a "clean switch"?

i'm considering trading my bad monkey for an eq pedal elsewhere

im getting my 10-band MXR EQ in the mail either monday or tuesday. although i dont have my TT yet so i cant really give you a review with a TT, ive thought of using it for the same too. it could pretty much be a boost, or clean, or a weaker overdrive sound. if i remember hopefully, ill give a little "review" of it and tell you if it could be a "clean switch"

+1000 on the MXR. I run one out front of my TT. I see no need for additional boost on the TT, but it will add a small amout of clean boost (I use a Barber LTD for clean boost). I can shape the tone of the TT really well with the MXR and dial it in nicely for the room in just a minute or two

Well it's worth the $39.95 I paid for it, but I'm looking for an EQ to use instead. LPB-1 doesn't seem to boost much even when all the way up and it changes your tone when it's on. I think an EQ to boost the mids is more what I want.

you can never go wrong with an eq pedal. (this is after i bought mine) They really clean your signal up and can offer a nice boost as well as other options.

That's what I'm thinking as it seems like most boost pedals don't appear to have much boost when an amp is already running dirty. Boosting a clean amp is a different story. I am looking for something to use as a lead boost.

Sorry to hijack, but what would most of you go with regardless of cost:

MXR 10band or Boss GE-7?

i've owned both

MXR all the way

besides the greater control,
it just sounds a good bit better overall

and on the nice to have side

the bands are all lit up on the mxr,
which is sweet on a dark stage
