That sucks. Hope it heals for you soon.
One question - how DO you wear those shoes and use pedals??? :p Man, I struggle with trainers on sometimes!

Tango,

Ouch but good to see it is the thumb and only a few stiches, I am sure you will be back up and picking in no time.

Great news! Be careful though........it will still be very sore if you knock it on anything....nurse it and let it heal well.....then you can get to playing guitar again!;)

Only jesting, I know from bitter experience how painful and frustrating hand injuries can be. Take it easy pet

Thanks guys, it's as sore as hell and I've lost any feeling in the top half of it. Hoping it'll come back with time.

I heard playing guitar is one of the best exercises for hand and arm injuries as it uses all the muscles and tendons. It'll take some time for the wound to heal enough to move it though. I wouldn't worry too much about the loss of feeling at this stage, it's probably down to the tight dressing and lack of use. Even in the worse case scenario of nerve damage, I sliced my right arm up pretty bad a few years ago when a bandsaw blade snapped on me, went through most of the tendons in my forearm, lost most of the feeling in my thumb, little finger and down the side of my hand. Docs told me it would be permanant, but within 6 months it was back to a usable level, and apparently normal within a year. I put that down to playing guitar.
