Hi.
I've had my Rocker 30 Combo for about 18 months and had no problems, but today its all gone to s---!
When its on (with no effects and the guitar strings muted) its making a really loud hissing sound, it also crackled when i turned it on.
The switch changing between clean and dirty channels also doesnt work, it just stays on the clean channel constantly!
Arrrgh, any help or advice would be very appreciated, i have never changed the tubes if that has anything to do with it?
Thankyou

Mmmmm bad 12AX7, like one of the triodes died? Do you have any known-good 12AX7s you could swap in?

Im no expert but I do own a Rocker 30 !
Reference the channel not changing when using the switch is the foot pedal lead plugged in ? Ive also noticed this and that was the reason why . Reference the crackling how high is the volume when u turn it on / is the guitar right next to the amp , are your guitar pick ups feeding back .

It may be a bad valve. It's never bad to have good valves hanging around and I think that may be a good place to start. It's sort of hard to diagnose this way, and I've never had my rocker do that, but, if it's not a bad valve, at least you'll have some known-good valves laying around. Good luck.

Thanks mate yeah the switching is working now, i didnt realise having the lead plugged in would do that!
When i turn the amp on the guitar is next to it, so that might explain the crackling.
But the constant hum has never been there before and i've tried it with a few guitars and its the same.
Looks like the best thing to do would be to change the valves!
Whats the difference between 12ax7's and ecc83's? Do some of the rockers come with different ones?
Also do you know what make all the stock valves are?
Thanks, you've been very helpfull!
