Can anyone possibly explain what the deal is with Orange and Matamp.
I've heard of Orange many times, but only once of Matamp.

matamp came out in the early-mid 60s. it was started by matt mathias. in the late 60s he teamed up with cliff cooper and made Orange/Matamps. the amps actually had both logos on them. in the early 70s, they split and made both orange amps, and matamps. matamp, along with gibson and trace elliot at different times, made reissues at some point as well.
matamp is still around, and now orange is being made by trace elliot i think.

I think Orange isstill made in the Matamp shops as I recall a conversation with Joel Wheeler who is the rep for Matamp about the newer models being made there. He said the "AD" was some dude's namewho built them. I don't know, that's what he said.... I just said "uh hu".... Really nice guy. Knows the history that'sfor sure.
