Nitro Cellulose problem

I want a new guitar stand but all of them say not suitable for nitro cellulose laquer e.t., why is this?

What the hell is suitable for them, i dont want to ruin my 52RI?

it corrodes the finish. but putting a cloth over the forks of the guitar stand can stop this from happening

Nothing. They are like the originals. If you want them Worn-Looking , use them. Or leave under bed and keep pristine.

Hercules stands are nitro safe, as far as I know.
Double check before you buy.

I don't use stands- it's in my hands or in the case.

Buy normal stands and cover the rubber bits in socks. There was a distinct sock shortage in our house about the time my LP arrived:D

Some makes mention they are OK for nitro.

Personally not had a problem with the ones I use - if you are worried cover the rubber bits up as suggested above.

I have used Hercules stands for years...they are stable and secure as well as using nitro safe foam. I have several nitro guitars and havent had any issues. Hope this helps.
