Most of you saw my post on gigging with my AD30. Well, if you had read it, you would know that I concluded that the AD30 is no match for a Mesa Mark IV, so today I visited the place I bought my AD30 from and traded up for the AD140. Now hopefully this beast will keep up in the volume department, eh?

I thought my AD30 was already VERY loud.
I've never played an AD140, but it must be awesome volume-wise !
congrats !

Be careful. Your cab is only 120 watts im pretty sure.

That should never be a concern in real life haha

I wondered about the cab being able to take it. My idea was to have the 2x12 now and then, if need be, get another 2x12 and run it like a 4x12. Ya think my cab can handle it as of its current state?

should be fine t.j. just dont dime it. everyone cites the conservative celestian ratings when ever someone asks about the combo.

sounds fine to me
its the first cab ive owned and i only brought it because it was dirt cheap on the bay and has vintage 30s in it.
i dont have much experience to say if its good or crap compaired to other cabs but it does the job for me.

I had a great cab back in the day I got used for really cheap the brand was Lab Series. It was a great 4x12 cab. A dude told me the company was formed by some old Marshall dudes but I never got that confirmed. The cab was kinda thinner than a 1960 and a little taller. It was loud too

Congradulations. How do you like the AD140 compared to the AD30? I've gotta say, i absolutely love my AD140. It produces the best tone I have heard from any amp IMO. I'm pretty sure you will be fine running it through the 2X12 cab. I think the 140 watt rating is more of a marketing thing than anything because the amp only has 4 EL34's which typically produces 100 watts.
