So I have just sold a canoe that was in my garage for years, on ebay, and I suddenly have enough cash to buy an Orange PPC 212 cab for my TT. I now have the luxury of being able to choose between the Orange 212 or a Framus 212 with V30s at half the price of the Orange. Besides looking very cool is the Orange worth the extra cash? What would others do? There is also the option of the PPC 112 which I have not ruled out. Now that the only thing in my way is making the decision it doesn't seem such an easy choice! Can somebody please make up my mind as I can't. ;)

I'd suggest Avatar speakers, but you are in the UK.

Things I would consider are:

a) Do you need a 2x12 or would a 1x12 suffice? Are you planning to gig or just use at home?
b) Can you fit a 2x12 in your car? Do you need to put the seats down to do this?
c) Can you think of something you'd rather spend the money on if the answer to a) is a 1x12 would suffice for your needs?

In the UK, you can buy 2 x PPC112s for less than a 2x12.

Thanks Chris. I would be gigging with it and I'm pretty sure I can get it in my car OK (Discovery). I don't really have any other immediate plans for the cash other than putting it TOWARDS saving up for an SG standard. I see you have 2 112s? I really am having a hard time deciding which is best. Some folk say you get better bass response from 212 as opposed to 2 112s but I realize you have more directional options.

These guys sell a miyraid of cabs, with whatever speakers you want in them quite cheaply.

I only have a clio so 2x12 = seats down for me! :?
Can't see you having much trouble with a discovery!

2 x 1x12s does add more and gives a fuller sound, but I don't think it's as much as you'd get from a 2x12.

Having 2, 1x12s means you can make one open backed and one closed back which will help spread the sound a bit more in a room.

It sounds as though there aren't really any downsides for you getting a 2x12. I think you'd be happy with it. :D

I don't know enough about Framus cabs to comment on them.

Thanks that helps me a lot. I maybe just needed to convince myself that it is justified to spend the cash! I should just do it quickly before my wife thinks of some alternative use for it!
