Hey all,
So Mark's purchase of the SG-3 has inspired me to pick one up. Being unemployed and too busy with school to fit in a job I need more creative methods of money making. I'm mapping out things I can sell. I got up to the price ($800) but then I realized that Musiciansfriend's alleged free shipping is only within the States, which equals an extra $65. It saddens me that $65 (and selling this other stuff) stands in the way. How can a person make a quick $65?
I'm looking for creative ideas. I've already exhausted my friends hah.

How about playin' your guitar on the street corner with a tip jar in front of you :D

Sell your blood or plasma..
Take old crap to the pawn shop...
Sell something on Ebay with a "buy it now" option and a low price
Shovel snow..
Beg...

What happened to NAFTA?

I think that having to figure out where to get some $$$ from means one of two things- either get creative, or it's a sign that you shouldn't get it.

Kinda hard being a girl and all.

In Canada you get a pat on the back and smile for donating blood.

Phil- I might just try a one off job, gotta find one... I just hate interviews.

But yeah, so far I'm figuring on selling my MIM tele, Korg EA-1 MkII synth, old mountain bike, Phase 90 pedal and a useless bass that has no strings and a crack in the headstock. I've got nothing left!

I'd try busking but I don't own an acoustic.

Drug trials for pharmaceutical company? Can be a bit risky, but well paid.
EDIT- thinking about it, you might not even have to do any trials, I did one when I was a student, had to have a full medical first which they paid me for...

If you do the agency thing, make out your looking for stuff on an ongoing basis, or you'll get no joy if you let them know you only need one days work

Esther...
You are killing me, what if
you don't like it? I would
feel really horrible. I
hate it when members buy stuff
on my opinions, guess I am a
bit insecure there...

Hope your weekend goes well?

Unfortunately, I am one of those people that would say 'perhaps you weren't meant to buy the guitar'.
But saying that doesn't really help you out much.

(while I don't like this idea because credit cards are a slippery slope...)
If you have good credit, but the guitar with the MusiciansFriend platinum card.
You won't have to pay for 3 months. But you do get to buy the guitar for a great price while they still have on in stock.
Since, you already have a bunch of money saved you just have to find a way to get the $65 in 3 months.

In 3 months you could actually try some of the aforementioned ideas:
Donate blood/plasma
Sell more gear on Craigslist
Sell gear on eBay
Give someone guitar lessons
Shovel snow
(or make your significant other pitch in for your birthday/really late Valentine's day)
