Van Halen cancelling concerts

Heard this on the radio this morning. They said EVH was having issues once again, but wouldn't elaborate. He's been through alchohol problems, and then cancer. I for one hope he is okay. He is a true pioneer for the modern shredder movement. Indeed he was probably the first true shredder.

Alcoholism is a bad sickness.Just when you think you have kicked it, it will hurt you again.I am struggling to break free of it myself.Pray for me, I need it.Pray for EVH too.

According to the radio report I cited earlier, they said 4 shows were cancelled. Nothing about rescheduling those dates, or whether additional dates were affected. They were quite hush-hush as a MOF.
Obviously they don't want this kind of publicity.

I too have had my fair share of struggles with the bottle Bluz57, so I will pray for ya brother.

anytime you develop a propensity towards a certain act or behavior in order to deal with emotion, stress, pain, and the numerous other things we feel in our lives, it becomes extremely difficult to break free from the grip of habit. And even when you fight to loosen its grip, particular events drag you right back in. Thats why its so difficult to quit. You really need to have a reason as well as develop a new mindset towards the entire relationship you have with it (alchohal, etc.)

Personally I have never struggled with alchohal. I dont care for it much apart from the taste of beer but no-one gets "addicted" to beer, at least i dont think..

Unfortunately I struggle somewhat with pot. Some of the worst times of my life have been accompanied with the use (and abuse) of the drug. I still struggle with shaking it completely. I tend to smoke a little bit before i practice my guitar which is everday, although I dont do it EVERYTIME i practice. I know I'm not addicted to it because at one point i was, even though i thought i wasn't. Ive learned to really regulate the use, but I still feel now that i "SHOULD" quit completely.

We all struggle with things in life. I will pray for you Clay and I think that talking about these things on the forum is theraputic and healthy, almost like talking to a counselor.

If you really want to quit that badly Clay,and still haven't managed to do it...maybe it's time you considered treatment.I only say this because I give a s---,brotha!
