I would sell my 335 and Jazzmaster and buy a tele. Sounds odd, but I know teles will always be there for me, so I don't need to own one. But if I could own only one...

I hear ya there Controller. The tele is really my heart and soul.I can play any style of music worth listening to with it.From Jazz to country.
Mark, I was waiting for your answer.
Because you have had a bunch of guitars, I respect your opinion, and I want to see what YOU think your best guitar is.
Did you choose the 1965 Tele because of sentimental, monetary, or playability?

I chose it for sentimental, bought in when I was 15, 40 years ago,
have personally never found one that sounded or played better. And
it was my first electric. the Monetary value means little,
it feels like it has always been part of me and always will be!
We all probably think our's sounds the best, I know I do! lol!
I have looked for another for 35 years and never found it's equal
or partner. That's why I only own one. all others just don't
cut it for me!

That's way too cool. I wish I had a Strat form when I was a kid, that would be cool.
Which one would I keep? Damn - I don't know - probably my AL - but like MD said - it would have to be fitted with a HB in the bridge. Maybe the PRS - it sounds great too.......hard decision.

My '72 Tele Deluxe Reissue, for sure.
My SG has suffered the "Gibson Smile" TWICE (in the SAME SPOT nonetheless, which shouldn't even happen - THANKS Sam Ash tech), and I am just really afraid to play it.
And I've fallen out of love with my 80s MIJ Contemporary Strat.

Great answer, Mark.
I am sure it sounds great.
I DO wish the guitar I bought when I was 15 would worth what your '65 was.

Fender MIA Strat with: KTS Titanium saddles, Fralin Blues Specials and Unbucker.
Orange AD30 --> stacked PPC112 (1 V30, 1H30)
Fender Blues Deluxe (modded JJ6V6s) + Extn Cab.
My Bluesboy... of course, it's the first guitar I dropped any real coin on, but it's a true "dream" guitar. Essentially everything I've ever wanted in a guitar.
G&L Bluesboy Semi-Hollow > Vox Volume > Boss TU-2 > Fulltone Fatboost (v.1) > Keeley Fuzz Head > Fulltone Fulldrive 2 > Boss DD-5 > EHX Pulsar Trem > EHX Holy Grail > Orange AD30HTC > Avatar 2x12
I no longer have my guitar from when I was a Kid. It was an American Hamer, that just could sustain for days. But it had that crappy Floyd Rose Whammy Bar. Break a string and you are hooped. It played and sounded amazing. I sold it to a friend who wanted to learn guitar.
For me, Id keep my Gibson 335. It was a toss up between my Tele and my 335, but I prefer the neck on my 335 over the Tele, althogh the Tele is more versatile.

Either my R8 Les Paul or the 335. Probably the paul cause it is just amazing. It has a brazilian fingerboard and is just an amazing playing, sounding guitar

My guitar as a kid was a Harmoney Rocket! I wish I still had it just for sentimental reasons but it wasn't a great guitar. I can only post about the guitars I wish I still had, the ones I have now are just ok. I miss my 20th anniversary LP Custom it was such a cool yellow color! I paid 300 just to get the headstock repaired, more than both my current electrics put together.
which one would you choose. That is a hard choice, but I would probably keep the Nocaster and let the other all go.

Bluz57, I hope that question will never have to haunt any of us.
My wife put her foot down years ago and said, I was not allowed to ever have more than two guitars at once. Like most things, I took it too personal. Now I've got six. I will aways own a Strat, but honestly, I am playing the Les Paul everyday now instead. My Warmoth Strat has a fresh frett crowning and redress job done, and a new Torres mid boost installed. I tried it once or twice and went back to playing the Les Paul for now. Did I talk around your question good enough?:D
