I think I'd like to check out one of these little amps. A voicing switch to change the gain level(/structure?) in the preamp, and it's got 2 6v6 tubes.

I like it because it's less than buying a kit from Weber (though I'd still love to do that), but I'm wondering if this won't get some cool sounds, and be cheaper!

Anyone seen or played one?

What do you think guys? $300.

I saw one at the local GC, but I didn't have a chance to play it, someone else was...it sounded really good though, 'specially for $300.

2 6V6's?
So still around 18 watts?

Couldn't you do the same with a modification to
your 18 watter and a pre amp tube change?

Hell, what do I know...
I am still waiting on my white Carter with 6V6's.

There's a really good thread on these over here.

I agree, and I looked into that, but for the time I'd have to spend on re-punching the chassis to take octal tubes (the big, fatter type, i.e. 6L6, 6v6, EL34, etc) alone would be too much hassle.

Interesting ....we've had these on sale in the UK for a few months now, including the vibrochamp xd, the 15 watt super champ xd goes for around £200.00 quid over here.. (x2 for EQ in bucks)

here's one at a musicshop near me ...

I deliberated on getting one of these for a while, then a fairly new tweed blues junior came up on the bay in the UK, at a reasonable deal, so I got that instead...After a little bit of tweaking and tidying, I feel I got a way better amp..

Whats the diff about a solid state effects loop? like with the distortion it talks about?

IMHO, I personally have not been impressed with any
of the Fender amps with their DSP...just my 2 cents
worth.

Of course, if you have one and love the DSP, more power
to you, don't let this old guy keep you from checking
one out.

I would rather have a Carter than a Super Chump.

And that's what I'm thinking, but then again, I wouldn't be buying it for the DSP. I just think it's a nice little package. I think I'll try one out at GC, maybe I can trade my 18 watt for 5 of them. That would be cool to see on stage...;)
