Dude who gives a sh-t(sorry about the pun flush me later) as long as you are generally happy most of the time. I never judge anyone for what they do because in my past I have worked as a janitor on many occasions to help pay the bills.I respect people more for the fact of that can be bothered to do something, rather than just sit on their ar-e and take of the rest off society.
Quite simply I have no time at all for losers who put crap on other people for what they do and finally I do all the above jobs because at my age 44,I can.I have had a lot of experience I started working in roadcrews at the age of 18 so why waste all that knowledge. With age comes wisdom and a clearer view of what I wanted to do in my life.Sorry to ramble but you only get one life so why not make it your life on your own terms wherever it is possible.

I was in a TV studio all day yesterday....doing the sound for live performances to be aired next month for ME Television here in Austin. Not quite as fancy as your CNN set up...but a lot more fun! Plus, there is no propaganda and lies being spread from them
PS - What the phuck have you been up to, Chris?!?!?!?
<hr height="1" noshade id="quote"></font id="quote"></blockquote id="quote">
Working!:x
Like 50, 60, and at least a few 70 hour weeks....it sucks to work so much. But I've got a great retirement plan going, have $0 on credit cards, have one car paid off, the Mustang will be paid off very soon(and have only 20k miles), and will have a new house on the lake by early April;)

Well sounds like you have a solid plan...and you are single. The world is your proverbial oyster!

That's funny ... I too dream of working in a music store surrounded by gear and like minded people all day. There's a Gallins in Sydney too, about 1K from my house ... along with 4 other great shops within a couple of metres to a couple of Ks of one another (Billy Hydes, Jacksons Rare Guitars, Music City and Music 101). At least I'm within easy reach of things when I'm not working.
Back to the thread ... and when I am working, I'm a program manager on the software dev side of things for a market/media research company.

TO ALL YOU AUSSIE DUDES THINKING ABOUT WORKING IN A MUSIC STORE THINK AGAIN THE GRASS IS NOT ALWAYS GREENER.ESPECIALLY AFTER YOU HAVE RE-STRUNG OVER A GAZILLION GUITARS(AND SOME REALLY CRAPPY ONES) AND UNPACKED COUNTLESS BOXES OF STOCK THAT YOU PROBABLY WONT BE ABLE TO AFFORD ON YOUR CRAPPY SALES CLERK WAGES. I USED TO WORK AT JACKSON'S RARE GUITARS AND WHILE IT MAY SEEM LIKE A COOL JOB FROM THE OUTSIDE ITS NOT ALL FUN AND GUITAR PLAYING.

No worries zoomer ... just a dream, and the dream didn't include all the BS that, as you say, happens in every job. Except for Rob Chapmans ... I would say you're a lucky b*gger Rob, but it sounds like you've made your own luck, taken a risky plunge and put lots of effort into your skills ... hat's off to you ...
